This is Coronavirus 411, the latest COVID-19 info and new hotspots… Just the facts… for Thursday July 9th, 2020. The U.S. has crossed the 3 million mark, with another record setting day of new cases. 59,453 were reported yesterday, according to the New York Times. Led by California with 11,694 and Texas with 9,979. Missouri, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and West Virginia all set single day records. More than 24 states have halted or rolled back reopening plans. PPE is once again in short supply. Coronavirus Task Force Member Dr. Fauci, told the Wall Street Journal, “Any state that is having a serious problem, that state should seriously look at shutting down”. In Missouri 82 campers and counselors have tested positive, the largest cluster attached to a summer camp. Cases in Tulsa, Oklahoma are on the rise. The city’s health director said they are “more than likely” connected to The President’s rally and protests of the rally that took place last month.   1.3 million workers filed first time unemployment claims last week. In Orlando, Florida, Disney World plans to move ahead with Saturday’s reopening. 

The Director General of The World Health Organization said yesterday that the true enemy isn’t the virus, “but the lack of leadership and solidarity at the global level”.  Tokyo, Japan reported their largest daily increase in cases today with 224. Dubai will give arriving passengers free COVID-19 tests at the airport with results within 6 to 24 hours, reports The Washington Post. Mainland China recorded their 9th consecutive day with new case numbers in the single digits.
