The Oxford University/AstraZeneca vaccine candidate released positive data on their early stage trials, noting that it has produced promising response in large early stage trials. They are currently in Phase III trials in the UK, Brazil & South Africa and will begin a U.S. trial soon. President Trump will resume the public Coronavirus Task Force briefings and he said wearing a mask is “patriotic”. Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Montana, Nevada, North Dakota and Puerto Rico reported record hospitalizations due to the virus. The largest teacher’s union in Florida, will sue the state over resuming in person classes.
The European Union has set aside $859 billion for loans and grants to rescue member economies from the devastation caused by COVID-19. Health officials in Spain said their infection rate has tripled since restrictions were lifted. Mainland China will require proof of a negative test within 5 days prior to boarding a flight in to the country. The territory Delhi, India reported fewer than 1,000 cases in a 24-hour period for the first time in 6 weeks.
