This is Coronavirus 411, the latest COVID-19 info and new hotspots… Just the facts… for Wednesday August 26th, 2020. The CDC updated testing guidelines, removing those who do not have symptoms, even if they have been exposed to the virus. Researchers discovered that a conference in Boston in February, may have led to tens of thousands of COVID-19 cases in the U.S. and abroad reports The New York Times. An entire 4th grade class, more than 200, in a Mississippi school has been quarantined.  Governor Whitmer of Michigan said she wouldn’t “be bullied” in to re-opening businesses before it was safe to do so. New York took Alaska, Arizona, Delaware, Maryland and Montana off of their travel advisory list. 29 states and 2 territories remain on the list. The Federal government will require regular testing of all nursing home employees. A study published in Nature magazine, reveals men produce a weaker response to COVID-19 than women.


Two cases of reinfection have been reported in Europe, this follows one in Hong Kong. India has logged over 1.5 million cases in August. Spain’s Prime Minister said the army is ready to help regions that don’t have enough contact tracers. South Korea has closed schools in Seoul. The Pope will resume public appearances starting September 2nd, reports CNN.
