The FDA has granted and emergency use authorization to a $5 COVID-19 test that gives results in 15 minutes. Iowa will close all bars and taverns in 6 counties. North Carolina State is asking all students who live on campus to move out by September 6th. The University of South Carolina is considering closing the campus as cases double in one day. Alabama extends the mandatory mask requirement for another 5 weeks. Delta has put over 200 passengers on a no-fly list for refusal to wear a mask.
Lebanon recorded their highest daily increase Thursday with 689 new cases. South Korea increased restrictions in Seoul. Germany will introduce stricter measures to keep the virus at bay including fines for not wearing a mask, extending a ban on large gatherings and avoiding non-essential travel to high risk areas. The UK Government is encouraging citizens to return to the workplace. German health officials said they plan to have a vaccine ready by early 2021.
