The Emotional Effects of Coronavirus Lockdown
We’ve washed our hands more in the past month than any given year of our lives. We’re all stuck at home eating canned soups and canned vegetables. Oddly, this feels doubly vexing if we AREN’T sick! Why? Because you’re only supposed to be stuck at home burning through can after can of soup when you ARE sick! Now, naturally, covid is serious as any pandemic is. But what are the emotional consequences from social distancing and isolation? How will this pandemic effect the “Future Earth” emotionally?
Now, we MUST social distance. That’s imperative. That is the bonafide tried and true method f ceasing the spread, of flattening the curve of infection. It’s brute force. It’s tough. It’s unpleasant, but it’s effective. There is a rough estimate that coronovirus will kill, yes, as in fatalaties, over 100,000 Americans. And that’s just one country. So the lock-downs are practical, but they need not lead to dangerous emotional ramifications of isolation.
Everyone has talked about how telecommunications and namely the internet has brought our planet closer together. Indeed, it has. So utilize video conferencing, email, txts, social media, and telecommunications. Staying connected with your friends and family without physical proximity is very doable given the near limitless nature of technology.
What’s ultimate cure to covid isolation? It sounds like the panacea prescription to any international predicament, but…….it’s love, mates. Specifically e-love, given the social lock-down quagmire we’re all in. Time to utilize the e-waves to connect with each other even more. But more importantly, you can utilize the technology of neuro-linguistic porgramming (or NLP) timelines to manage your time in a way that mitigates boredom, overwhelm, and isolation.
NLP Timelines are composed f two modes: in-time and through-time. In-Time and Through-Time are two very distinct ways of creating perspective, having cognizance, and interacting with the texture of your time. The distinctions between each are subtle, but decidedly profound. Integrating the In-Time/Through-Time distinctions into your life makes planning, scheduling, calendaring, and structuring future time just glow; in-time/through-time distinctions are an invaluable tool. In a way, in-time/through-time distinctions allows you to rotate and kind of disassemble and then re-observe and access time differently.
So you can now use your cognizance of these two NLP tools to structure your time during lockdown. We have a lot of free time on hands, but one of the problems of lockdown is the longevity of it is a variable; we don’t know how long it will last. The sentient ambiguity of that causes restlessness. Therefore, whenever you get the next lockdown update, simply swivel into through-time to plan out your schedule, and when you’re enjoying a favorite film, be sure you connect with it via in-time mode!
