This is Coronavirus 411, the latest COVID-19 info and new hotspots… Just the facts… for Monday August 31st, 2020. The U.S. added one million cases in 22 days to cross 6 million, while Global case count has passed 25 million. The FDA Commissioner said his agency would be open to an emergency use authorization for a potential vaccine, before Phase III trials were finished if it was appropriate to do so, reports The New York Times. The Governor of New York deployed a SWAT team to a state university.  (The team is made up of 71 contact tracers and 8 case investigators). After cases increased on campus, likely due to large parties and gatherings reports CNN. Coronavirus task force member Dr. Birx, encouraged people to “do the right thing” when it comes to preventative COVID-19 measures. Stating “Right now, we gain freedom through wearing our masks and socially distancing”. 


After 5 months, New Delhi India will reopen the subway. Paris, France will begin free coronavirus testing citywide, utilizing mobile labs.  The lockdown in Auckland, New Zealand ended Sunday night. Schools in Hong Kong will reopen classrooms on September 23rd. They have conducted virtual learning since early February. The airport in Ghana reopens this week, it has been closed since March.
