New York has dropped six states from its coronavirus travel advisory. Travelers from California, Hawaii, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, and Ohio will no longer have to quarantine two weeks before entering the tri-state area.
Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh isolated a biomolecule they say neutralizes the virus that causes COVID-19 "completely and specifically." In a published report, they say this antibody component is used for a drug, Ab8, that could be both a preventative and therapeutic treatment.
Hospitals in England say a shortage of tests in the U.K. is jeopardizing medical staffing and the ability to handle a potential surge in cases this winter. Daily new infections have gone to levels not seen since late May.
Dr. Anthony Fauci praised Vermont as a model and proof the principles he’s been touting can lead to a safer reopening. Vermont has the lowest per capita rate of cases of any state, and one of the lowest death rates. Only two Covid-19 patients are currently hospitalized.
LSU football coach Ed Orgeron said most of his team has contracted COVID-19. He said he didn’t know the exact percentage. Per SEC protocols, players who have contracted COVID-19 don't have to be tested again for 90 days.
And How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris says he and his family are "feeling good" months after they tested positive. He, his husband, and their 9-year-old twins, all weathered the illness in late March, early April.

Rosebud, MT. Bollinger, MO. Harrisonburg, VA. Hardeman, TN. And Union, FL. Countries with the most cases in the last 7 days per capita: Aruba, Bahrain, Israel, Andorra, Montenegro, Argentina, Costa Rica, Spain, Turks and Caicos Islands, and Peru.
There are 2,519,864 active cases in the United States. The current Top 10 states by number of active cases: Florida, California, Georgia, Arizona, Virginia, Maryland, Missouri, Alabama overtakes Texas. Then South Carolina.
There’ve been a total 195,735 deaths in the US reported as COVID-related.
Globally there have been 930,758 deaths. Down 4% over 14 days.
The states with the most new deaths reported as COVID-related: California 153. Texas 148. Florida 139. Virginia 96. Ohio 82. North Carolina 51. Georgia 45. Alabama 32. Tennessee 30. And Mississippi 28.
Globally, there are 7,246,430 active cases with 1% in serious or critical condition.
There are 266,249 new cases around the world in the last 24 hours, against a high of 312,135 on September 11th.
