The top 10 counties with the highest number of recent cases per capita according to The New York Times: Pleasants, WV. Glasscock, TX. Montour, PA. Bent, CO. Oldham, TX. Richmond, VA. Lassen, CA. Montgomery, IL. Woods, OK. And Chase NE.
There are now 7,786,653 active cases in the United States. The current Top 10 states by number of active cases: California, Florida, New York, Arizona, Virginia, Texas, Georgia, Missouri, Illinois, and Maryland surpasses Colorado.
The five states with the highest risk levels and most daily new cases per capita over 7 days are Texas, California, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and Rhode Island.
The infection reproduction rate is currently highest in Maine, West Virginia, Florida, Georgia, and New York. The states with the lowest reproduction rate are Alaska, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Michigan.
There’ve been a total 338,544 deaths in the US reported as COVID-related, with a current national fatality rate of 1.75%.
The states with the most new deaths reported as COVID-related: Pennsylvania 285. Texas 271. Michigan 212. California 203. Arizona 171. Indiana 165. New York 163. Ohio 149. Illinois 126. And Tennessee 122.
Globally, there are 22,194,433 active cases.
There were 490,470 new cases around the world in the last 24 hours against a high of 748,974 reported on December 11.
The five countries with the most new cases: the United States 194,860. Brazil 57,227. The U.K. 53,135. Russia 27,002. And India 20,529.
There have now been 1,788,731 deaths reported as Covid-related worldwide. Down 4% over 14 days.
