Who’s up for a vaccine cocktail? British scientists are starting a study to see if it's OK to mix and match vaccines. Guidelines say they aren't interchangeable but can be mixed if the same kind isn’t available for the second dose or if it’s not known what was given for the first shot. Which of course, sounds directly contradictory. This study aims to clarify things.

China says it will provide 10 million doses to developing nations. The Foreign Ministry says China’s responding to a request from the World Health Organization as developing countries try to fill shortages predicted to last through March. No word on which vaccine they’re providing or if they’re donating it.

A new study from UK Biobank says people who have recovered from COVID-19 probably have high levels of antibodies for 6 months or more that should protect them from reinfection. No one will say for sure but it’s some reassurance reinfections won’t happen soon after recovery. And the findings are similar to other studies in the U.K. and Iceland in recent months.

The federal government will open its first mass vaccination sites in California. One will be the Oakland Coliseum where the Oakland A’s play and the other will be on campus at California State University, Los Angeles. Both are adjacent to communities hardest hit by the pandemic.
