On today's Coronavirus Q&A, hosted by KSL Newsradio host Jeff Caplan, Dr. Michael Good, CEO of University of Utah Health is here to answer listener questions. Also on the program today, Nate McDonald, part of the communications team for the Utah Coronavirus task force.
The questions asked today are:
1 -  Was it a good idea to spend tax dollars to stockpile a malaria drug that may or may not be effective against COVID-19 coronavirus? (1:14)
2 - What is the state task force's position on stockpiling an anti-malaria drug? (3:23)
3 -  Why hasn't there been a vaccine created yet for COVID-19? Also, why hasn't the malaria treatment been implemented? Finally, should a person in their late 60s be tested, even if they don't have symptoms? (3:50)
4 - Is U of U Health making plans for a second wave? (9:44)
5 -  Is Dr. Good avoiding giving a strong endorsement of the state's purchase of an anti-malaria drug? (11:39)
6 - As we watch the numbers increase, shouldn't everybody be wearing a mask in public? (15:35)
7 - Are the clinical trials being conducted at University of Utah health on the anti-malaria drug being conducted on an outpatient basis?  Also, could the anti-malaria drug be used in senior centers as a way to prevent the spread? (19:35)
8 - Are there other things we can do, besides washing hands and social distancing, to protect ourselves? Like, are there foods we should eat, or should we lose weight? (22:15)
