Once we have made a commitment to the Lord we will struggle to stay committed to the Lord unless we strive to do so in the context of community. We need others to build us up, support us, and help keep us accountable. When it comes to the Lord, He wants us to be committed to Him through community. To fully commit to the Lord though, we must start from a place of commitment to Him, and then take some deliberate steps toward others.

(Placing chapters 8-10 in context) God’s people had now taken some concrete steps to reestablish their commitment to Him. Last time we saw three steps that took God’s people from confession to commitment. We will see three steps that took them from commitment to community.
