Facing opposition outside the community is expected. Facing it within the community can often be surprising, and, deflating. One of the most insidious sources of internal opposition in the community is simply, our selfishness.

Background: Nehemiah the man who has cared deeply, demonstrated great faith, and worked hard despite the opposition of his enemies now faces a new threat: The selfishness of his own people, specifically, the nobles. We will see from God’s word how Nehemiah confronted this internal problem and the steps he took resolve it. As we look at the text we will see 3 steps to move from selfishness to selflessness.
