Corpo-Seco is a terrifying figure from Brazilian folklore. His name means “the dried-out corpse,” and he’s said to be the restless remains of a cruel man who was so wicked that even the earth, heaven, and hell rejected him. Condemned to wander, his body became blackened, dried, and skeletal, and he haunts graveyards and lonely roads. People claim he attacks travellers, dragging them into the darkness with his sharp, claw-like hands.
