The presentation sets out the key arguments from the concluding chapter Peter Bayliss' doctoral thesis on the role played by the body in the player's experience of videogame play. Drawing upon the work particularly of the phenomenologists Merleau-Ponty and Heidegger, it discusses how the experience of space and videogames can be experienced as space in which the player can inhabit and traverse - to experience a sense of presence within the game-world.
