Ever have a seasonal cough that just won't go away? Well in Taiwan, a common remedy involves steaming snow pears! So in today's episode of the Feast, we'll be serving up steamed snow pears to mark the beginning of a micro-season on the Chinese almanac called "Big Snow" (which begins on Dec. 7 this year). 

Today’s menu: In our first course, we’ll tell you an ancient Chinese story about a boy called “Kong Rong" (孔融) who gave up his pears. Plus, we’ll introduce you to a pear that’s so juicy you might not want to give it up. In our second course Andrew heads into the Feast Meets West test kitchen to steam some rock sugar snow pears, the perfect antidote for the seasonal cough. And in our third and final course, we’ll be sampling those pears right here in the studio!
