KMOX's Maria Keena spoke with Kevin Lee, President and CEO of Mid-America Transplant, who says that drones could transport organs for transplant between medical centers in the state of Missouri. He says there are built in capabilities to adjust for bad weather on flights. He calls it a, 'safe, effective and efficient manner,' to transport medical samples and organs, and is 1/10th the cost of a fixed-wing aircraft. He says there are still hurdles to pass with the FAA.
