The recent new report out of Mississippi adds to the list of stories involving assaults on umpires (and referees) for youth sports games. A quick search on YouTube or Rumble will turn up video of officials being verbally and sometimes physically attacked over what happened in a KIDS game.

It's ridiculous and it's already having the expected affect: it's getting difficult to retain and recruit officials. If the trend continues, kids may not be able to learn the lessons offered by competitive sports.
