I've been fascinated by AI for over a decade, but lately, my fascination has turned into deep concern. While many are focused on the long-term, existential risks of AI, I believe we're facing a much more immediate crisis – one that could radically reshape our society within the next two years.
The rapid development of AI like ChatGPT and Gemini is astounding, but it's also terrifying. The ability to automate professional tasks is increasing at an alarming rate, and I fear this will lead to mass job losses, particularly within the middle class. Imagine a world where lawyers, accountants, and even marketing professionals are replaced by AI. This isn't science fiction; it's the reality we're hurtling towards.
What worries me most is the lack of urgency and awareness surrounding this issue. Governments and institutions seem completely unprepared for the massive social and economic upheaval that's coming. We need to be having serious conversations about mitigating the impact of this technological asteroid, but instead, there's an eerie silence.
This video is my attempt to break that silence. I want to raise awareness about the imminent threat AI poses to our current way of life. We need to start planning and taking action now, before it's too late.
This is a conversation we all need to be having.
