First: the Christian life is a mission trip

"Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, I am sending you."

John 20:21

Our Response: “Here am I! Send me.” (ref. Isaiah 6:8)

Second: Christians live and look different

“Do everything without grumbling or arguing, 15 so that you may become blameless and pure, ‘children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.’ Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky 16 as you hold firmly to the word of life.”

Philippians 2:14-16a

"God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them,

and as we live in God, our love grows more perfect." 1John 4:16-17

Our challenge: Are we living/looking differently?

“Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what He wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.” Romans 12:2 Msg

Third: Christians live as ambassadors

“So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making His appeal through us.

We speak for Christ when we plead, ‘Come back to God!’” 2Corinthians 5:20 NLT
