Today Matt spoke from Revelation 8:1-5. Here we saw that the revelation of the completed work of the lamb should lead us to worship and to partnership in prayer. Revelation reveals that our prayers have power, appearing before the very throne of God where Heaven longs to partner with the things we pray.

Today Lara shared with us from Revelation 7 looking at how Jesus is presented as the lamb who, by his sacrifice, makes us His and brings us home, restoring us to God where we can stand as His, living in His presence and renewed creation.

Revelation 6 presents us with a world that is dark and broken. But we also see here how Jesus is sovereign over all. Today James shared with us from this chapter, looking at how Jesus is still on the throne through all that this world presents here and now, and asked how we should live in this dark work as those who follow Him.

This week we read Revelation 5 where we saw that Jesus, as the slain lamb, is the one who has authority to judge evil finally and bring hope and life to people from every tribe, nation and language. Thinking on this Matt asked us how we live in the here and now as followers of the way of this Jesus.

This week we read Revelation 4 and saw how our God is the judge of all who will in His power deal with darkness, evil, sin and death. But He is also the God whose mercy encompasses His judgement, and He is incredibly gracious making a way for all to find freedom from our own sin by making us His own.

This week we read Revelation 3, the final 3 letters to the churches of Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea. These letters are from Jesus to His church, and so this week we looked at some of what these three letters reveal to us about Jesus as the book of Revelation should first and foremost be a Revelation to the church of who Jesus is.

This week, Mike continues our journey through Revelation by looking at Jesus' letters to the churches in Revelation 2. While these letters contain strong warnings, they ultimately reveal the heart of a loving Saviour who calls His Church back to Himself. He warns against compromise and invites us to remain faithful as overcomers in a world that constantly competes for our hearts.

Many of us think of Jesus as a 1st century middle-eastern carpenter come rabbi. But this bible tells us that Jesus hasn't stayed like that. He has become so much more. Revelation is a vision at the end of the Bible that draws back the curtain on Heaven and shows us who Jesus is now. Seeing Jesus as He is now has a huge impact for us who believe. This week Matt took us through Revelation 1 inviting us to open our eyes and see how amazing Jesus is now.

Today, Emmanuel concludes the Gospel of Matthew by teaching Matthew 28 as not merely the book’s ending but the inauguration of new life through Jesus’ resurrection. 

Today we focused on the crucifixion of Jesus, His death and all-sufficient sacrifice, all that He went through for us. We saw how the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world was foretold throughout the Old Testament, all perfectly fulfilled in Jesus. We responded by focusing on the Holy Spirit's power in these moments and how Jesus' sacrifice brings new life for us!
