This week Nathan shared with us from Matthew 4 looking at how Jesus has identified with us in our sin and then carried it off and defeated the enemy in all the ways we often fail, making a way for us also to overcome the temptations and trials of the enemy in our lives through Jesus.

This week we looked at Matthew 3 and saw that the baptism of Jesus was way more than a guy simply being baptised but a dramatic retelling of the story of new creation, and an invitation for all of us to start again in Jesus.

This week Matt shared with us from Matthew 2 where we discover some amazing truths about Jesus and that He is worthy of our worship. But Matthew 2 also forces us to ask how we will respond to Him, will we be a monarch (like Herod) and want the throne for ourselves, or will be Magi, those who will commit our lives to the journey of the praise of Jesus.

This week we launched our new 2026 series "Jesus is..." looking at who Jesus is revealed as to us through the books of Matthew and Revelation.

This week Matt walked us through the genealogy of Jesus in Matthew 1, looking at how Matthew reveals to us, through this list of names, that Jesus is the promised King and Priest come to save and restore all humanity.

As we wrap up two years reading through the bible Matt shared from the final chapters of the scriptures (Revelation 12-22). Here we saw how the story all folds together and comes to its triumphant end. All the way through the bible there is a character called the serpent, or the dragon, (the Satan) who in Revelation seeks to use beasts to enact his evil will. Today Matt unpacked, pastorally, what these beasts represent and how through Jesus the beasts and the dragon all come to an end making way for the beginning of new life, hope and peace in Jesus.

This week James did the first of two weeks that we have in Revelation, talking from the opening chapters and focussing on this being a message from Jesus to His church. Here we find Jesus calling out some things in the church that weren't great, but as James helpfully pointed out to us most of these things were rooted in the churches needing to rediscover their first love - Jesus, and this is what he encouraged us to do.

This week Dennis shared with us from Jude. Jude is a short but complex book that draws on passages from the Old Testament, and other extra biblical literature (cultural writings of the day from outside the bible). Dennis showed us how Jude (the brother of Jesus) used these other writings to speak to the church of his day, and to us, warning them about people who were negatively impacting the life of believers and encouraging them to be rooted in the scriptures so that they, and we, could be firm in the faith and rooted in the true biblical Jesus who gives life and hope to us.

This Sunday we baptised Samuel, Israel, Fern, Evie, Revelation & Agnes.

What a joy it was to see and hear them confess their faith in Jesus and their declarations of who Jesus has been and is to them.

This week Emmanuel shared with us from Hebrews 4, explaining that Jesus as the one greater than the angels, prophets and priests has a greater promise that still remains for us today. And to enter this promise we simply need to have faith in Him, the one who has done all to achieve it for us.

Today Matt shared with us from Paul's letter to Titus, where he encourages Titus to teach the church in Crete how the amazing news about Jesus (the gospel) should shape everything in our lives, and how it is the gospel itself that is the power to live this new life.
