Two keynote speakers at the Australian Agriculture and Resource Economics Society Conference underway in Adelaide today.

Dr Ken Henry is one of Australia’s leading economists who, amongst numerous influential roles, was Secretary of the Department of Treasury under Prime Ministers John Howard the Kevin Rudd. He has since switched his focus to the environment. We’ll talk about where he thinks agriculture sits in his plan and the need for Governments step up and protect critical habitat.

And we’ll also discuss the shocking state of Australia’s red wine wine grape growing industry with Professor Kym Anderson, foundation Executive Director of the Wine Economics Research Centre.

You’ll hear that the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility Scheme would be fairer to overseas workers if the visa requirements were changed.
