Bendigo Bank has released its annual agricultural exports report, and it has been the second-highest year on record, as our total agricultural exports rose by $5 billion dollars. And Victoria has retained its position as the largest export state in the country.

It's spring, which means the days are starting to heat up and those warm, North Westerly winds will be putting extra pressure on crops. Now, the season is on a knife's edge with farmers hoping some decent rainfall could at least lead to some average yields.

Coles has postponed its promise to end the sale of caged eggs this year, commiting to a new deadline of 2030. The supermarket says it's a result of avian influenza outbreaks creating disruptions in supply, which has caged egg farmers arguing this may very well still be an issue in five years time. 

The National Farmers Federation will be joined by producers and government to discuss ways to better manage dry conditions, as the National Farmers Federation Drought Forum gets underway. 

The Rain and Grain Project, with the use of soil moisture monitoring probes, provides real time soil water content data.
