County approves additional dog ordinance

The Box Elder County Commission has approved a new ordinance aimed at addressing nuisance dogs in unincorporated areas. The ordinance prohibits dog owners from allowing their pets to engage in behaviors that cause property damage, failing to quarantine infected dogs, not properly controlling dogs in heat, making disturbing noises during night-time hours, chasing vehicles or people, and acting aggressively toward animals or people. Owners violating the ordinance can be charged with a class C misdemeanor.
