County updates administrative law judge contract

The Box Elder County Commission approved a contract amendment last week that ratifies the compensation arrangement for Administrative Law Judge Richard Catten, who serves as the county’s hearing officer in employee appeal cases. Box County Attorney Stephen Hadfield spoke to the issue, explaining that Catten oversees hearings when county employees challenge disciplinary actions. He said the contract was necessary to prepare for future cases and ensure the county could proceed with its personnel appeal process.
