In today's gospel, Jesus commissions his followers to spread peace to the surrounding villages, but to take no supplies or comforts with them. Pastor Michelle tells us that Jesus was asking his followers to be courageous in spreading peace to the world, but also to be vulnerable to the whims of the people they encountered. Jesus guides us today to do the same: spread peace wherever we go. For God's kingdom will arrive, not with force, but with peace and love for all.
