In this episode of the Gold & Blue Breakdown, after recapping WVU football’s loss to Iowa State, Couz and Jonathan will preview the Mountaineers’ upcoming game against the Kansas State Wildcats. They will give their three keys to victory for WVU, will take a look at key position battles and a key player to watch for Neal Brown’s West Virginia team.
Sophomore phenom Avery Johnson leads K-State into Morgantown, WV to take on the West Virginia Mountaineers this Saturday, October 19 in what will be a 7:30pm EDT kickoff on FOX. Johnson, who has thrown for over 1,100 yards and ran for over 300 in just six games, will look to his backfield mate D.J. Giddens to help lead the Wildcats to victory. Giddens has rushed for 786 yards so far on the season and is averaging 7.3 yards per carry. Brendan Mott, who leads the Big 12 with 6.5 sacks, will lead Coach Chris Klieman’s KSU defense into Morgantown.
WVU will be led by senior quarterback Garrett Greene, who has similar stats to Johnson. Greene has thrown for over 1,200 yards and ran for nearly 400. Can Greene and running back tandem C.J. Donaldson and Jaheim White carry the Mountaineers to victory? Couz and Jonathan will give you their opinion at the end of the show. Defensively, West Virginia will be led by linebacker Josiah Trotter, who leads the team with 46 total tackles, to go along with an interception. #wvufootball #big12football #kstatefootball
