Lent begins where Scripture insists we begin: with honest confession before a holy God. Psalm 51 gives voice to the sinner who knows that guilt cannot be hidden and brokenness cannot be fixed by effort or intention. David’s plea exposes our shared need for cleansing that only God can give. We come not to defend ourselves, but to be washed, renewed, and restored.
