Covering Cities and the Journalist’s Influence on Mobility

John Surico was refreshingly real and genuine about his interest in cities. It was clear from our conversations that writing about cities was not a job for John. I wanted to ask a bunch of questions about what it was like to be a writer for Vice, but we ended up having a long conversation about cities and transportation and the influence of the media. 

 

We started by talking about John’s research about last-mile train connections. Why do some people choose to drive to the train station when others bike or walk?
