COVID-19 Community Calls 6: Design Thinking Our Way to New Solutions

Listen Later

Every day in April, ASCE Plot Points is calling a different civil engineer from around the United States to find out how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting their life, their community, their work and the civil engineering profession.
Thirty days. Thirty phone calls.
Community Call 6 finds us talking to Mel Butcher, the private sector group midwest lead at Carollo Engineers, specializing in industrial water treatment, water risk and sustainability. She facilitates a career support group for women in male-dominated fields called CollabSuite, produces and hosts The Empowering Women Podcast and writes a monthly ASCE News series called Design Thinking.
She talks about how those design thinking concepts might help civil engineers during the coronavirus pandemic.
