On this podcast, meet Clifford N Lazarus, PhD, a licensed psychologist and co-founder of The Lazarus Institute.  Dr. Clifford Lazarus is one of the current world authorities of Multimodal Therapy (MMT) as originated by his late father, Professor Arnold Lazarus. In addition to his Multimodal CBT psychotherapy practice, Clifford Lazarus specializes in health psychology and collaborative psychopharmacology.

We discuss how COVID-19 impacted his practice and his patients and he shares advice on how to deal with the extra stress and anxiety this pandemic has triggered.

Clifford Lazarus received his B.A., M.S., and Ph.D. in psychology from Rutgers University where he was a Henry Rutgers Research Scholar.  

Clifford Lazarus consults nationally and internationally on MMT, health psychology, evidence-based psychological treatment, and integrating medical and psychological interventions. In addition to his numerous professional publications, he has authored the popular books "Don’t Believe It For A Minute: Forty Toxic Ideas That Are Driving You Crazy;" and "The 60-Second Shrink: 101 Strategies For Staying Sane In a Crazy World."  He is also the author of a widely used therapy assessment questionnaire, the "Multimodal Life-History Inventory."  In addition to his clinical and consultation work, for five years, Clifford Lazarus co-hosted a weekly, listener-call-in radio program, “Mental Health Matters."

Among his various awards and recognitions, he has been honored by the Prescribing Psychologists’ Register for his contributions to the efforts of training in psychopharmacology for psychologists, and is an Honorary Professor of Psychology at the University of Flores in Buenos Aires for his academic, scientific and professional contributions.

 

He is a regular contributor to the Think Well blog in the online journal Psychology.
