A workplace survey conducted by CareerBuilder found Seven out the top 10 productivity killers involve too much socializing. Is there anyone that springs immediately to mind - a ’Chatty Kathy’? Maybe it’s the receptionist who describes her new diet each time you pass through the lobby, the manager who dominates weekly staff meetings, or the sales rep who stops by your cubicle for an hour at a time.
Which is absolutely fine if it’s work related for the most part, but if it’s just to shoot the breeze and share a story with you for the umpteenth time – then it’s starting to be a problem. Especially if you just want to scream at them “you’ve told me this story several times before”.
