04.13.2016 - By Matthew Tommasi: Ultramarathon Runner, Spiritual, Endurance
For many triathletes, completing an Ironman is the ultimate test of endurance - swimming 3.86km (2.4 miles), riding 180.25km (112 miles), running 42.195km (26.2 miles).
Some athletes are talented enough to then qualify for the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii - the Mecca of triathlons.
Fewer still dare to attempt the Ultraman - a double Ironman over three days.
Only a handful of humans have attempted the Epic 5 Challenge - five Iron distance triathlons, over five days, on five Hawaiian islands.
Then there is Craig Percival..
Who in March 2016 completed the 8-in-8-in-8 (8 full Iron distance triathlons, in 8 of Australia's states and territories, in 8 consecutive days).
In this interview Craig talks about what he went through and what kept him going.
