Craig Shoemaker is one of the funniest stand-up comedians I have ever experienced live. His shows are always sold out. They all end with standing ovations. Craig is also an author, podcaster, radio personality, and tv writer. This was meant to be an interview about that. Apparently, Dylan and Craig had an altercation on social media years ago that touched on things like comedic authenticity, politically correct comedy, comedic intent. And it just rolled from there. This is one of those episodes where I was more witnessing a moment rather than being a part of the moment. I think if there is one couch episode, from the original to revisited, that I would recommend people seriously interested in the importance and nuance of comedy should listen to, it would be this. It brought resolution to two human beings and colleagues, but it also started a conversation within the comedy community that I think should really be explored. At one point, I just shut up and let them go, and I am so glad I did. This episode is very special to me. Not for the resolution, but as a real advancement of a conversation in an art form I truly respect: stand up comedy.
