Buyer filed chargeback and credit card let him keep item! Need help NOW. Crazee NY Driver eBay Talk Responding To A Chargeback With eBay Managed Payments Can Be Difficult.
out of state buyer. He purchased a $650 mobile phone from me. He waited until 2 months later to say he didn't want it, but I said he was out of the return period and so did eBay. So, he called his credit card company and filed a chargeback saying it was defective. PayPal seller protection doesn't cover this type of chargeback, so they reversed the transaction while they disputed the chargeback.
I said I took a return at that point and gave my return address to the buyer and Paypal.
The cc company eventually came to a decision 2 months later and sided with the buyer and LET HIM KEEP THE ITEM. So, I am out all my money and my item is gone too. PayPal and eBay said they cannot do anything for me. PayPal actually said this is common - credit card companies love to keep their buyers happy and will usually side with them on chargebacks and don't care if they return the item.
