This episode was for some reason so much harder to watch than the last one, and I think maybe a big part of that has to do with sincerity. In the last episode, the inappropriate pole-dance is accompanied by denial and no self-awareness. This time, her humiliation is inflicted while she's attempting to be emotionally vulnerable, and I think that's why it came across so much more harshly. When Josh laughs in her face (a totally valid response, I must say) she's fully aware that she is in love with him, and wanting his approval, so of course it hits harder.
Man, I don't know what to think about this sequence of events because I didn't really want her and Josh together but it seems like they're sort of pushing them together and even though in some ways I'm resistant, I can't help but start to root from them.
