As Tal prepares the final details for the 2026 Flims Forum, enjoy this encore episode from Season One of Create Good Stories, featuring Tal’s sisters, Shawni and Saydi, and the important topic of Shadow Work.
This was one of Tal’s favorite episodes from Season One because it explores a topic that he believes we don’t look at nearly enough: the parts of ourselves we would sometimes rather not see. Tal believes that doing this difficult inner work is key to living a full and meaningful life.
In this conversation, Tal, Shawni, and Saydi discuss the hard but important work of honestly looking at our shadow sides—our weaknesses, fears, failures, and other parts of ourselves we may be tempted to hide or ignore—and what can happen when we begin to acknowledge and integrate them.
Enjoy!

In this episode, Tal talks with Bree Fotheringham, an American violinist and passionate advocate for bringing classical music to new audiences.
First, we get to know Bree and hear her story, including her involvement as Founder and Artistic Director of the Salt Lake Chamber Orchestra (SLCO), an ensemble dedicated to bringing exceptional classical music to Utah through fresh and engaging performance experiences designed for a 21st-century audience.
The SLCO’s most recent concert was themed “Landscape,” and Bree explains why. From there, Tal and Bree explore the fascinating intersection of landscape and classical music and the ways that place, nature, and our surroundings can shape music and the experience of listening to it.
At the end, Bree takes us to Los Angeles as she describes her dream meal and what would make it the perfect dining experience.
Bree considers community engagement to be the most meaningful part of her career and envisions a world where classical music concerts are inviting, invigorating, and relevant experiences shared by all members of the community.

This episode is all about Jonah’s life on Blakeley Island, part of the San Juan Islands in northwestern Washington. Tal begins by sharing how his time with his brother Jonah this summer shifted his perspective. Then Jonah’s daughter, Poem, and Tal’s daughter, Annina, share a little about their experience together on the island.
Tal then asks Jonah a series of questions to better understand how the unique lifestyle he has created with his wife, Aja, has evolved. They talk about the ways Jonah challenges himself, his views on consumerism and pain, and the inner landscape that shapes how he lives.
Spending time with Jonah has changed Tal in meaningful ways, and we hope this conversation might do the same for you.
