Created for Good Works | Eph. 2:1-10Before we were saved, we were spiritually dead. We were unresponsive to God and morally unable to do good works because we were alienated from His life.But God imparted spiritual life to us and made us a new creation through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This salvation was planned before the foundation of the world, when God chose us in Christ (Eph 1:4-5). We did nothing to merit it.God elected, regenerated, justified, and adopted us — not just for the sake of it, but so that we could walk in good works. We were saved unto holiness and blamelessness before Him.Reflecting on our salvation should spur us to praise and thank God for orchestrating our salvation from beginning to end. But it should also lead us to pursue godliness in everyday life — because that’s what we were saved for.
