Donald Mowat is an award winning makeup department head and personal makeup artist to celebrities like Jake Gyllenhall, Mark Wahlberg, and Ryan Gosling. He is known for his work in The Fighter, Nightcrawler, Sicario, Prisoners, and Skyfall.

What I love most about Donald is his approach to creating subtle character makeups with his actors in each movie he works on. I came across his work in Nightcrawler and immediately became a super fan. 

During this interview, Donald speaks about his experience creating character makeups, what his process is, and also how to have a good balance between being a department head AND a personal makeup artist to A-list celebrities.
