Want to become a professional photographer or filmmaker in the music industry, but you don't know how this industry works? Well, this week I'd like to help you with that. My guest this week is the incredibly talented Casey Steinmiller, a 23 year old photographer, videographer, and content creator who specializes in the music industry. At the age of 21, in a local Pittsburg Kansas bar, he discovered music photography as the perfect bridge between two loves, art and music. In this episode we discuss many things including lessons in working with major bands and labels, drama in the industry, how to balance a 9-5 job with freelancing, post production and important it is to make sure you are always improving at your craft. If you're trying to shoot a show, definitely try to shoot at a local venue, because you don't necessarily need to shoot under a publication or even reach out to managers, which is so relieving when you're first starting out.
