Today, there is a tendency for some to divide the world into mutually exclusive compartments. One component is labeled “sacred” and has to do with spirituality. Everything else goes into a “secular” category. The Old Testament is rich with ancient theological and practical truths that still apply today. Old Testament spirituality widens our view of spirituality to encompass all of life. The physical realm, like the spiritual realm, is sacred. It is all God’s creation and He sustains it all.
