Welcome back to Creative Endeavoring.
In this episode of Creative Endeavoring, Patricia explores what nervous-system regulation actually looks like beyond the idea of simply “staying calm.”
Building from the previous episode, Survival Mode, this conversation looks at how the nervous system moves through activation, protection and recovery—and why regulation is less about maintaining one perfect state and more about developing flexibility.
Patricia explores sympathetic and parasympathetic responses, top-down and bottom-up regulation, the relationship between the body and brain, and practical ways we can begin working with our state through awareness, breath, movement and vocal resonance.
This episode also brings the conversation back to the Creative Instrument: learning to recognize physical signals without automatically allowing them to define what is true, what is possible or who we are.
Because discomfort can be communication. And learning to regulate isn’t about silencing the instrument—it’s about learning how to listen to it, work with it and expand the range you’re able to create from.
As the series begins moving toward identity, Patricia also explores how the states we repeatedly experience can become intertwined with the way we see ourselves—and why creating something new may require more than simply thinking differently.
New episodes of Creative Endeavoring explore the relationship between mind, body, perception, identity and conscious creation.
