Born and raised in Sacramento, Zach received a scholarship to play division 1 basketball, while taking acting classes on the side. His experience as a gay and black athlete, immersed in hip-hop culture allows him to have a unique and refreshing point of view. The lack of queer representation, specifically for African-Americans, is what steered Zach to become a writer
