In the fall of 1981 childhood friends Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell released a film that caught the eye of writer Stephen King when it was shown at the Cannes film festival. The film was a visually inventive nightmare of five friends who unwittingly open Pandora's box in a cabin in rural Tennessee that would go on to spawn sequels, video games and launch the careers of Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell and the Cohen Brothers.
