Salt has a purpose in our body, and even more in the body of Christ, the church. In the sermon on the Mount, Jesus gives the follower, the disciple of Christ a purpose. He called us to be the salt of the earth & the light of the world. It is a calling of how we are to conduct our lives in this world; distinctively different from the rest of the world. Peter further reminds us that how we live matters, because people are watching our lives.
