There are various reasons I suppose. You might just find something helpful and want to tip.

Full disclosure, any tips will mostly go to Flat Earth research. Sure a bit will end up in the garden or something, but FE research is free until you want to zoom in 30x on something and have clarity.

Or try filtering the sun and recording. Get all set up with a good enough laser to shoot across 20 miles of water.

Really effective FE research ain't cheap, unfortunately.
