Ian Callen represented Australia in one Test Match and five One Day Internationals as well as playing over 50 First Class matches. He worked hard to gain selection for Victoria and impressed the national selectors with his domestic form so much so that he had the opportunity to play in his only test at the Adelaide Oval against a very strong Indian line up that included the likes Sunil Gavaskar, Chetan Chauhan, Mohinder Amarnath, Gundappa Viswanath and Dilip Vengsarkar. Ian managed to take 6 wickets in this Test match and was part of a successful Australian team that won the match and the series. This led to an opportunity to tour with the Australian side to the West Indies. This was a frustrating time for Ian who was fighting injuries though the fast bowler still managed to take some big scalps in his career including dismissing Sir Vivian Richards in an ODI. He also had the opportunity to face up to the fearsome West Indies bowling attack that included legends like Michael Holding, Andy Roberts, Joel Garner and Colin Croft. This is part one of four segments that aired on Bucketts Radio this week.
