In a recent episode called Unforget, Dream, Build, we featured two Latinx Americans whose work flies in the face of the idea that immigrants are a problem or immigration a threat. We spoke with Roberto Lovato, about his memoir “Unforgetting” and with MacArthur genius award-winner, Cristina Jiménez, co-founder of United We Dream who talked powerfully about how her generation experiences the good as well as the bad of immigration activism. Cristina spoke so powerfully that it broke our hearts not to be able to share more of it. So here we release the almost uncut version of that conversation. You’ll hear her story about growing up as an undocumented teen, and her grassroots work advocating for Dreamers in the face of ICE crackdowns and COVID 19.  Music in the Middle: “America” by Sylvan Paul released on Wolf and Lamb Records.
