In this episode, I reflect on my recent experience as Senior Cadre for the latest Combat Rescue Officer (CRO) Phase II screener. Out of 23 candidates, only 5 moved forward—a staggering 78% attrition rate.
I go beyond the physical "misery" of the pool and the ruck to explore the spiritual "laboratory" of selection. Using the Greek concept of the "Narrow Gate" and the imagery of the Refiner’s Fire, I discuss how high-pressure trials are designed not to break us, but to strip away the "dross" of ego and self-reliance to reveal the character of the Creator.
