AMW: Always More Wednesday. In this episode, we talk about how we as Christians can call ourselves "sinners" and yet we need to check ourselves because sin is not a normal part of the Christian life. We are called to be dead to sin sinners. We rightly call ourselves sinners, but let's not make excuses for ourselves in that statement. In this episode, we also talk about the power and invasion of sin and death - the wages of sin is death that reigns in humanity; and yet, this power has been overcome by Jesus and He calls us to participate in His holiness to have His power to defeat and overcome sin and death that has defeated and overcome the human race.

Why is there suffering, Gods permissive will, suffering proves God's existence, satan's role in suffering, not because of personal sin, the prosperity gospel, and the power of suffering in Christ that is expected and normal part of the Christian life, for union with Christ and for the sake of others, purifies our hearts, and we can REJOICE in our sufferings!

2,000 years ago people, including His own disciples, left Jesus for His teachings on suffering, the Eucharist, and marriage. Today, people leave Jesus's body, the Church, for the teachings on suffering, the Eucharist, and marriage. To embrace these beautiful gifts that Christ gave to His disciples to be united with Him in a radical way we need the Holy Spirit and we need Peter. Don't walk away from Jesus, don't forfeit incredible graces that Jesus wants to give you to transform you, and don't follow God according to your own perceived ways because you will find yourself no longer following Christ but yourself.

Today we talk about penance & mortification (prayer, fasting, almsgiving) in the life of the Christian. Jesus and the New Testament teaches and expects all Christians to perform penance/mortification (prayer, fasting give alms); to fast from sin, fast from the temptations to sin, and fast to discipline and practice martyrdom for sanctification in union and intimacy with Christ and for the salvation of others. "Do not gratify the desires of the flesh" (Gal 5:16), but "by the Holy Spirit, put to death (mortify) the deeds of the flesh" (Rm 8:13). We talk about: we do not do it out of hatred for the body, everybody fasts, it's part of the normal Christian life and is expected, it's not to burden others, it's only by the Holy Spirit, and the effects of it (deals with temporal consequences of sin, for our sanctification, for our intentions to be purified, and for salvation of others).
