Aren't church events and gatherings becoming obsolete? Can we just admit that "church" as usual is irrelevant to the rest of our lives?

One of the most irregular habits Christians have had from day one is deliberate gathering: fighting the personal and cultural momentum to "choose their own adventure" and, instead, rally together around one compelling mission. Maybe our methods and styles should adapt, but why we will never outgrow our need to come together?
